About KOOROW
Artist. Mastering engineer. Educator.
I’m Kourosh Elyas, known as KOOROW: a darkpsy producer, Certified Mastering Engineer and electronic music educator. For around a decade, I’ve explored music through production, sound design, performance, mastering and teaching.
KOOROW is my solo artist project; LEAKOWR is my collaboration with Leaconscious. I’m a Sound of Nature crew member and mastering engineer, and the founder of its Education program.
01 / MY STORY
From atmosphere
to darkpsy.
My journey began in downtempo and chill music, where atmosphere and emotion shaped the way I listened and created. Working with space, texture and detail became the foundation of my sound.
That exploration led me into darkpsy. Its depth, intensity and freedom gave me a place to develop layered sound design and musical storytelling. I build tracks through atmosphere, tension, rhythm and carefully shaped sonic detail.
Today, the same attention to sound connects my artist work, my studio practice and the way I teach. Each project is another opportunity to listen more closely, explore a new idea and develop my craft.

KOOROW & LEAKOWR.
Two darkpsy projects.
KOOROW
SOLO PROJECT / DARKPSY & DOWNTEMPO ROOTS
My solo project explores darkpsy through cinematic atmospheres, psychological tension and detailed sound design. I want each piece to feel like a journey, with character and intention behind its layers.
Selected releases include The Sacred Three and Hurtful Joy on Catar Records, The Meeting on Adapted Records, and “Worst Generation,” “Icaros” and “Schrodinger Cat” on Sound of Nature Records.
My catalogue also includes collaborations with Ponosys and Insane Creatures.
LEAKOWR
COLLABORATIVE PROJECT / WITH LEACONSCIOUS
LEAKOWR brings my production ideas together with those of Leaconscious in a shared darkpsy project with its own energy and identity.
Selected releases include Dark Revolution, Obscure Dimensions, Ominous Codes and Twisted Illusions. Compilation appearances include “We Are Chaos,” “Distorted Visions” and “Phantum Frequency.”
Collaborations include “Spectral Mindtrip” with Kacid and “Synaptic Reef” with Insane Creatures.
03 / IN THE STUDIO
Electronic music mastering.
Musical intent first.
My work as a mastering engineer combines critical listening, technical precision and respect for the artist’s intention. I listen for balance, depth, clarity and impact, and for how a track translates beyond the studio where it was made.
I also work as a mastering engineer for Sound of Nature, bringing my studio practice into the community I’m part of. Alongside mastering, I work in mixing, production support and sound design.
My production and teaching workflow centres on Ableton Live. My engineering toolkit includes T-RackS, Waves and FabFilter.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
Certified
Mastering Engineer.
I completed Mastering Academy’s 24-week coaching program in Hamburg, Germany, receiving my certification on September 26, 2025.
The program covered mastering strategies, critical and emotional listening, loudness management, signal processing, dynamics, delivery and professional client work. These subjects support the practical decisions I make in the studio.

04 / SOUND OF NATURE EDUCATION
Electronic music education.
The whole artist journey.
As a member of the Sound of Nature crew, I brought my teaching practice into the community and founded Sound of Nature Education with the crew. The program supports people who want to become producers or DJs, from curious beginners to experienced artists developing their skills.
Our goal is to stay with the process: learning, practising, finishing music, preparing a release and developing the ability to perform. My production lessons cover Ableton workflow, music fundamentals, arrangement, sound design, mixing, mastering and critical listening.
Teaching is an essential part of my practice. Through individual lessons, tutorials, workshops and ongoing community learning, I share the decisions and methods behind real projects.
Studio practice and project-based education.
Private Ableton Live mentorship
Private Ableton Live lessons in English, with direct feedback on your own projects. Develop production, sound design, arrangement and mixing at a pace shaped around your level and goals.
KOOROW Premium
Ongoing electronic music learning on Telegram, with lessons, practical resources and selected project analysis. Current videos are in Persian; English video or subtitle support can be arranged before joining.
Studio with KOOROW
Free YouTube tutorials on production, sound design and practical techniques, alongside educational content shared through my public channels.
Participants whose music reaches the required standard may be considered for release through Sound of Nature Records, subject to the label’s evaluation and approval. Consistent, active participants may also be considered for community event and festival performances, based on readiness and the event team’s selection.

Beyond the studio.
Performance is another part of my artist practice. Both KOOROW and LEAKOWR have performed at Sound of Nature Festival, with LEAKOWR also appearing at events in Turkey and Russia.

06 / MY APPROACH
No sound without
a purpose.
I believe music can tell a story through sound. Every layer, transition and sonic event should contribute to the experience. I want the listener to feel the intention behind the music, as well as its energy.
This approach guides my teaching too. I help people understand why a decision works, develop their own listening skills and build music with character. My aim is to share the thinking behind the craft so that artists can make confident, independent choices.
I continue to develop my own work while building a learning environment where experience, practical tools and ideas can be shared through private sessions, YouTube, Telegram and the Sound of Nature community.
